Festina Lente or Hurry up slowly is a great expression when talking about Bosnian people-even if lives here are quite fast they find time for everything.
Festina Lente is one of the newer bridges in Sarajevo, made in 2012, connecting the shores of Miljacka and expressing a great symbolism of bridges very important for Bosnian cultural heritage. Due to diversities which marked its history, the importance of the bridges and their connecting nature is often mentioned in Bosnian literature.
This white outfit matched its grey tones perfectly but this was not my only motivation for choosing this location.
The weekend the Pope Francis visited Sarajevo, on 6.6.2015 connected people in very special way. The Pope was a mediator between spiritual and profane…as the bridge was imagined to be.
Bridge also remembers on one of the massacres in BiH – Prijedor massacre. On 31.5.2015 white ribbons separated people based on religion and and 23 years later, few days after this date, the white gown of the Pope connected them, not reflecting the religion… This power of white colour inspired this fashion moment with the white dress on the bridge between spiritual and profane…
